CIMS DE CERVOLS (Deer Summits) is a circular route that connects one of the wildest and most unknown mountain ranges in the Pre-Pyrenees of Lleida. Boumort and Sierra de Freixa.
The main attraction is the significant population of deer they inhabit. They can be seen throughout the year, but the most spectacular moment is the rutting season (rutting), between mid-September and mid-October, when you can enjoy an amazing show by a guide who knows the best places of observation of these animals. The reserve stands out for being the only place in Europe where the four species of vultures of the continent reproduce: griffon vulture, black vulture, bearded vulture and Egyptian vulture.
The maximum heights of the reserve are around 2,000 meters, such as the summit of Boumort (2,077 meters) or that of the Dry Pine (1,917 meters). It is a land of contrasts with abrupt landscapes, which facilitate coexistence and the variety of the species that inhabit it.
We will also know the impressive Collegats gorge, formed by the Noguera Pallaressa river. Congost that has always been related by the ancient local inhabitants to the figure of the Devil.
This wild trekking will also take us to visit beautiful villages, such as Hortoneda, Taús, Fresnos, Llagunes, Malmercat, Malmercat, Gerri de Sal or the troglodytic church of Santa Coloma de la Espluga de Cuberes.
