LO COR DE LO PALLARS (The heart of the Pallars)

LO COR DE LO PALLARS (the heart of the Pallars) is a 4-day walk (possibility to reduce it to 3), which runs around and also ascends the massif of the Torreta de l'Orri, 2,441 meters high, located in the heart of the large, wild and mountainous region of Pallars Sobirà. The main value of the route is the great variety of forests, from the dry oak grove to the alpine meadows of the high areas, passing by magnificent fir trees and a fabulous riverside forest next to the Canton river. NATURE: we are in the heart of the High Pyrenees Natural Park, where natural wealth is an added value of incalculable value. In the area of ​​the Torreta del Orri we can find all kinds of wild nature, even brown bears have been seen in the area, an animal that was once extinct and has gradually returned to its natural habitat. Other animals with the capercaillie, the deer, the Rebeco, are other clear examples of this great variety of wild fauna.

HERITAGE WEALTH: Despite the almost eternal loneliness of these mountains, man with effort, suffering and perseverance, has been very present since ancient times, as evidenced by the Romanesque churches that we find in the villages, isolated and abandoned buildings like San Joan de l'Erm Vell, depopulated as Sant Romà de Tavèrnoles or the ruins of ancient medieval villages such as Santa Creu.
